This was for years the workhorse of the fleet.  It carried 1000ft of  4-in. LDH for water supply. It carried a high-pressure booster line, as well as two crosslays. It had a 1000 gpm pump, and a 1000 gallon tank.   Anyone familiar with the truck could always hear it approaching from quite a long distance away with it's Detroit "Screamin' Demon" and the drivers working their way through the 10-speed Eaton gear box.

In October of 2006, E5 failed to achieve a passing grade on the annual pump test, and was taken out of service.  In November of 2007 the District sold the truck to a local individual, and those with sharp ears will still hear it prowling around the area.
