At 19:02 hrs. on February 6th, DCFD was dispatched to a structure fire located in the 200 block of Westerly-Bradford Road. Car 4 was first on scene reporting heavy fire and called for mutual aid support from Westerly Fire. Tankers from North Stonington Fire, Charlestown- Richmond Fire and Ashaway Fire were also dispatched to assist with water supply operations. Car 1 arrived on scene establishing command. Engine 4 was the first engine on scene making the initial attack on the fire while other DCFD crews performed initial search operations. Ashaway Fire arrived setup for RIT operations. Westerly Fire setup a fill site to refill tankers. A second westerly engine and crew provided on scene manpower and assisted with suppression and search efforts. Once the majority of fire was knocked down firefighters were able to gain entry to the fire floor. One victim was located in the area of the living room. Westerly Ambulance setup rehab operations for firefighters and Westerly Police shut down the road for safety. Providence Canteen, RI State Fire Marshal and Westerly Building Official also responded to the scene.

Our condolences to the family of the victim. Special thank you to all responding firefighters, EMTs and Westerly Police.
