Why Give Blood?

Every day patients in Rhode Island and Southern New England need blood transfusions to recover from illness and injury. Our goal is to collect about 240 pints daily to meet these patient needs. We hope you will join us by giving the Gift of Life - a blood donation.

If you have any questions about donating blood, please contact the Blood Center at (401) 453-8307 or visit their website at www.ribc.org. If you have any questions about the blood drive, contact Mike Frink at chief@DCFD.necoxmail.com.

Your satisfaction is our priority! Let us know about your most recent donation experience by logging onto www.ribc.org and clicking the link for donor survey!

If you have donated within the past 8 weeks, you are not currently eligible. For eligibility or medical questions, please call 401-453-8383. If you have been told previously by Rhode Island Blood Center or another blood center that you should never donate blood, please disregard this message. If you have already scheduled an appointment to donate blood, please accept our thanks on behalf of the patients whose lives you may have touched.

To donate you must be at least 16 years old, weigh 130 lbs. and be in good health. You will also need parental permission. OR you can be 17 or older, weigh 110 lbs. and be in good health. Go to www.ribc.org for more information.
