On February 22nd, DCFD participated in the 2014 Fight For Air Climb at the Omni Providence Hotel.

Fight for Air Climbs are the American Lung Association’s most unique fundraisers. Climbs take place in prominent skyscrapers, stadiums or arenas and involve walking, running or racing up hundreds of steps. Sometimes called a "vertical road race", teams and individual participants can use the event as a fitness target, as a race, or as a great way to be active and meet new friends.

The American Lung Association is the leading organization working to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. Over 100 years of research and public service in the cause of lung health has defeated tuberculosis and helped keep tobacco advertising away from our children.

Funded in part by these Climb and Walk fundraising events, our research awards and grants program helps scientists discover new treatments and cures for lung diseases such as asthma and lung cancer. Our educational programs support those who wish to stop smoking and give people with COPD the tools to live fuller lives.

Congratulations on Dunn's Corner Fire being our highest fundraising team per capita! We raised an average of $753.33 per person. Overall DCFD raised $4,520 this year! In total 209,000 was raised this year to help support a great cause!
