The annual Karl Kenyon Smokey Bear Parade is scheduled for Thursday, July 18 at 5:00 PM. This event is sponsored by the Dunn's Corners Fire Department and its members. It is a great family event with fire prevention related goodies given out to the kids at all the stops and of course plenty of photo opportunities with Smokey Bear. Hundreds of children and families enjoy the parade each year. Come on out and help celebrate your local volunteer Fire Departments and EMS services.

This year we will be holding a boot drive at each of our stop locations. The money raised in the boot drive will be donated to the 19 families of the elite wildland firefighting crew who lost their lives in Yarnell, Arizona on June 30, 2013. Boots will be located at many of the lead trucks. If you cannot attend the parade but would like to donate you can send a check to Dunns Corners Fire Department, 1 Langworthy Rd, Westerly 02891, by August 1, 2013. Please note "Arizona 19" on the check.

The parade will kick off sharply at 5:00 PM from Dunn's Corners Fire Department Station #1 on Langworthy Road. Residents from all towns are invited to join us on the parade route. The parade will be stopping for approximately 10 minutes at each of the designated stops.

Weekapaug at Knowles/Weekapaug Rd (approximately 6:00pm)
Misquamicut Fire Dept on Crandall Ave (approximately 6:45pm)
Watch Hill on Bay St (approximately 7:15pm)

Atlantic Ave to Crandall Ave (Stop)
Shore Rd to Watch Hill Rd to Bay St (Final Stop)
