| On Wednesday, May 28th, DCFD firefighters trained on Watch Hill FD's old Ladder 104. Deputy Chief Bob Peacock and Captain Jane Perkins of the WHFD were the instructors for the evening. They went over the various features of the truck including how to operate the ladder from the turret. Many DCFD firefighters got hands-on training on the ladder operation as well as a few firefighters ascended the ladder once extended. The DCFD will continue to train on this piece of apparatus to allow our firefighters to become accustomed with the truck and to provide our drivers with valuable driver training. This training will be very beneficial since we will be taking delivery of our own ladder truck in the near future. |
