DCFD Trains In Donated House
By Lieutenant Carl Johnson IV
January 26, 2010
On Sunday DCFD trained in ventilation, rescue, and forcible entry at a donated house in Charlestown. Members divided up into groups and cut holes in the roof for ventilation, broke down doors for entry, removed windows for extrication of victims and ventilation. Crews also cut holes in the floor to practice removing a firefighter that had fallen into a basement. DCFD gained a lot of knowledge from these exercises, and greatly thanks the homeowners for donating their home.
