Firefighters Complete 2010 Fight for Air Climb

- On Saturday, February 27th, 5 firefighters from the Dunn's Corners and Watch Hill Fire Departments participated in the American Lung Associations's (ALA) 2010 Fight for Air Climb. The event is a fundraiser for ALA and is a unique event testing ones physical strength, stamina, and lung power. DCFD responds to possible dwelling fire
FEBRUARY 19
- At approximately 13:42 DCFD was toned out for a possible fire in the basement on Meadow Ridge Road. Engine 6 responded first due with Tanker 1 and Engine 2 filling in the rest of the assignment. Engine 6 arrived on scene reporting a light smoke condition in the basement. Upon further investigation the cause of the smoke condition was found to be a burnt washing machine pulley. FEBRUARY 12
- At 16:08 DCFD and Westerly Rescue were toned for an MVA on RT 1 near the Westerly Middle School entrance with reported injuries. Rollover in RockRidge
FEBRUARY 05
- At approximately 15:15 hours DCFD was toned for a rollover with occupants out of the vehicle on RockRidge road; Engine 6 and Engine 4 were out within seconds. Once on scene Engine 6 found that the car had come to rest in the front yard of a residence, and all the occupants self-extricated with no injuries. Mutual Aid to Charlestown
JANUARY 27
- Around 3:00 the Charlestown Fire District was toned out for a possible brush fire on Kings Factory Road. Within seconds Westerly Dispatch conveyed to Charlestown Dispatch that they recieved a second call about the incident being an actual camper fire. DCFD Trains In Donated House
JANUARY 26
- On Sunday DCFD trained in ventilation, rescue, and forcible entry at a donated house in Charlestown. Members divided up into groups and cut holes in the roof for ventilation, broke down doors for entry, removed windows for extrication of victims and ventilation.
