Sunday evening, DCFD was dispatched to Urso Drive for a fully involved boat fire in close proximity to 2 homes. Heavy smoke was visible from miles away. Firefighters were able to rapidly deploy 2 hose lines for fire control and to protect the exposures while other firefighters conducted primary searches of the homes for extension. No fire extended to either exposed structure and was limited to the boat. Scene was being investigated by the RI State Fire Marshals Office.
