Nine members of the Dunn's Corners Fire Department participated in the American Lung Association's 2017 Fight for Air Climb in Providence yesterday, Saturday March 4. Each member had to climb 22 flights of stairs in the Omni Providence Hotel, while wearing full turn-out gear and an air pack.

The event raised over $150,000 to fund research into lung cancer, asthma and other lung diseases. The DCFD team raised over $4200, giving it the fifth highest team total for the event. Deputy Chief Carl Johnson was the top individual fund raiser for the event, having raised over $2600.

Our congratulations and respect to the DCFD 2017 Fight For Air climb team: Deputy Chief Carl Johnson, Lt. Jeff Thomas, Lt. Nick Schilke, and Firefighters Mike Deniger, Corey McKenna, Chas Donnelly, Josh Gabriel, Jason Shippee and Brady Gulluscio.
